The brief was to stream simultaneously to 23 global locations around the world which required the provision of a rock-solid 500Mbps point-to-point microwave link. The iconic glass domed BFI IMAX at Waterloo was chosen as the venue which provided logistical challenges in terms of the physical installation of a microwave link.
As the live event was only 30 minutes long it was a “do or die” reveal, so we also built a 50Mbps bonded LTE backup stream in case of any issues on the primary link.
Above and beyond the streaming, we also provided a high-speed event WiFi network for the press who were present for the reveal with the CEO of Activision.
